The Ferris Foundation to Celebrate 25th Anniversary with Nov. 4 Benefit in Grand Rapids

Ferris State UniversityAn evening of celebration and reflection is planned for Friday, Nov. 4, as the 18th annual Ferris Foundation for Excellence Benefit will be held at the DeVos Place, in downtown Grand Rapids, Mich.

Gala celebrations for friends and supporters of The Ferris Foundation began in 1999. Executive director Carla Miller said that the $18 million Ferris Futures Fund Scholarship Challenge, which was announced at the 2015 Benefit, has brought added excitement and energy to The Ferris Foundation’s efforts and activities.

“The Benefit will top off the 25th anniversary of The Ferris Foundation,” Miller said. Our keynote speaker, former NFL quarterback and humanitarian Archie Manning, strongly encourages his audience to be active in the community and to always strive to make a difference. Our university’s founder, Woodbridge N. Ferris, had that same philosophy, to make the world a better place.”

Supporters are invited to consider a range of sponsorship opportunities for The Ferris Foundation Benefit, and more information is available by contacting Kim Erickson at (231) 591-2365. Tickets are also available for the black-tie optional event at $250 per person.

Net proceeds support The Ferris Foundation for Excellence Scholarship Program, which provides assistance for students with great financial need. The Benefit also presents the resources for Exceptional Merit Grants. These are awarded by The Ferris Foundation each year to faculty and staff members for initiatives that represent the collaborative and innovative Ferris spirit.

The Benefit begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, dinner begins at 7 p.m. The program for the evening will start at 8 p.m., and Manning will deliver the keynote address at 8:30 p.m. The DeVos Center is located at 303 Monroe Ave. NW.
