Alumnus Fiddler Reappointed to Michigan Aeronautics Commission

Rick FiddlerA graduate of Ferris State University’s Criminal Justice program has been reappointed to the Michigan Aeronautics Commission.

Rick Fiddler, of Ada, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1977 from Ferris’ College of Education and Human Services. He is vice president of aviation for Amway Corp., which is based in Ada. He is a member of the Gulfstream Customer Advisory Board, Sikorsky/United Technologies Customer Advisory Board, the West Michigan Aviation Academy Board, and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Task Force Committee. Fiddler is a certified flight instructor, and holds an Airline Transport Pilot’s certificate.

Roger Salo, of Plymouth, was also reappointed to the commission by Governor Rick Snyder. Salo recently retired as director of aviation for Masco Corp, which is based in Taylor, Mich.

"Rick and Roger have served Michigan’s flight community well on the commission,” Snyder said, in a press release issued by his office. “I thank them for their continued commitment.”

Housed within the Michigan Department of Transportation, the nine-member board governs all airports, flight schools, and other aeronautical activities within the state. Appointees will serve four-year terms expiring May 27, 2020. Their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
