Summer Internships: Hannah Evo

Ferris State University students gain valuable work experience through internships. Internships also can confirm or redirect career decision-making, provide marketability, develop people skills and enhance classroom learning. Many academic programs require one, but the experience is encouraged regardless to provide students with a better understanding of what will be expected of them in the workplace.

Many students are participating in myriad internships this summer. Meet:

Ferris State UniversityHannah Evo

She is: Hannah Evo, a junior from Fenton, studying Marketing with a concentration in sales. Her internship is with Diplomat Pharmacy, an independent distributor to clients with chronic or rare conditions.

Her internship experience: Developing communications skills, learning about business methodologies (working with a supervisor, pharmaceutical product lines, for clients suffering from cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis and clients needing growth hormone for their treatment).

Future plans: Hannah is considering a career in medical device sales. Understanding the pharmaceutical sales field seems like an organic opportunity to become familiar with the medical sales field.

Side note: Hannah is a member of Ferris’ women’s basketball team.

Core values Hannah relates to in her internship:
“Diversity is important, you have to adjust to patient needs. Patients and customers have different personalities, and different needs.”

Making a difference at Diplomat:
Hannah is serving as the pharmacy liaison at Diplomat this summer, which involves “inside sales,” taking calls, communicating with clients, and sending prior authorization materials.
