Ferris First (#Ferr1s): Ashley Nicole Miggins

They all have a story. Here, we tell part of that story. Meet: Ashley Nicole Miggins

Ashley Nicole MigginsShe is: A graduate of the Criminal Justice program from Grand Rapids, Mich.

How did you find out about Ferris? Miggins learned about Ferris while she attended Grand Rapids Community College. She saw posters posters on the GRCC campus. Miggins also noticed Ferris billboards along the highway.

Why was Ferris your No. 1 choice? She wanted to continue her education in order to make a better life for her and her son.

What do you like most about Ferris? “It was great to have professors that worked in criminal justice and to hear their many stories. It made the classes very exciting and more interesting,” she said.

What do you enjoy about your academic major? Miggins enjoys that there is a variety of career options that come with the criminal justice field which will give her the ability to expand her knowledge in many areas.

How has Ferris prepared you for your future? “Ferris has helped me get out of my comfort zone and to think bigger than myself,” Miggins said. “I can use my degree to help others and all that I want in life.”

Why should Ferris be a top choice for others? The experience Miggins has had at Ferris with the faculty and staff has been positive. She feels others seeking an education should receive the same wonderful experience that she enjoyed at Ferris.

What was the best part about being at Ferris? “It was such a blessing to be a part of the Ferris family,” Miggins said. “Just being a part of something that was bigger than me was the best feeling ever.”
