Leah McHugh, a Ferris State University sophomore majoring in Hotel and Restaurant
Management, earned a scholarship from the Michigan Lodging Tourism Association during
the Michigan Governor’s Conference at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa earlier this
month.
McHugh, a native of Big Rapids, attended the conference where she worked for three days as a Ferris student ambassador.
Scholarship recipients were selected based on academic standing, leadership and passion for the industry.
