Ferris State University’s mascot, Brutus, will host an online Twitter chat on Wednesday, Feb. 19 beginning at 7 p.m. During the second intermission of the Saturday, Feb. 8 home hockey game against Northern Michigan University, Brutus revealed his true identity before a capacity crowd in Ewigleben Ice Arena.
Zach Totten, a senior in Energy Systems and Engineering, has played the role of Brutus since the summer of 2010 and has been completely confidential except to a select few people. He has devoted countless hours to entertain fans at numerous events, while displaying Ferris pride in an upstanding way.
With Totten graduating in May, he will be discussing what it is like to be Brutus Ferris and how it has changed his experience at Ferris. Students are encouraged to engage with Totten using the #BrutusBarks hashtag on Twitter from 7 to 8 p.m.
Students are encouraged to use tweetchat.com where they can connect their Twitter account and follow #BrutusBarks and all of the interactions with Brutus.
