Twenty-one Ferris State University students were awarded Alumni Association Legacy
Scholarships totaling $24,000 for the 2014-15 academic year.
The Legacy Scholarship recognizes the academic achievements and leadership potential
in students whose parent, sibling or grandparent is a Ferris graduate. The one-time
award can total up to $2,000 and is presented in two equal increments for two consecutive
semesters.

The winners will be honored at the Legacy Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center beginning at 2 p.m.
To be considered for the competitive scholarship, a student must not only be the relative of a Ferris graduate, but also have a 2.75 cumulative grade point average and have successfully completed a minimum of two full-time semesters. Applicants must submit an essay that describes their personal career goals and how a Ferris degree will help achieve those goals. In addition, they must submit a letter from the Ferris graduate describing the effect their educational experiences had on their life or professional career. Finally, the student must submit a recommendation by a Ferris faculty or staff member.
