For Ferris Grad, Working Internationally is Par for the Course

Ferris State University’s collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association, Ferris AMA, will again be participating in the national organ donor awareness movement, AMASavesLives.

Ferris AMA placed first among 250 chapters in new donor registration and third in social media posts in last year’s competition. The awareness movement requires participating chapters to utilize various social media outlets and create short online videos to raise awareness about organ donation.

Chapters involved are encouraged to plan events that will further spread knowledge and awareness on the issue.

“Ferris AMA has worked extremely hard to sign up organ donors and increase awareness about saving lives. One donor can save up to eight lives. We signed up more than 570 donors last year and we hope to have similar numbers this year,” said Sam Lehnert, Ferris AMA vice president.

Ferris AMA will set up tables with informational material along with computers for donor registration throughout the month of November in the IRC Connector and at five-star campus events.

The AMASavesLives Project is sponsored by the Collegiate American Marketing Association and funded by Donate Life America. Donate Life America is a not-for-profit alliance of national organizations and state teams committed to increasing organ, eye and tissue donation.

The project also receives support from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Organ Procurement Organization and Applied Ph.D. Research and Marketing.
