Moore's 'Sicko' to be screened in Big Rapids

BIG RAPIDS - The documentary film "Sicko" is being screened in Ferris State University's G. Mennen Williams Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17. Admission is $3 for students, $5 for adults.

Filmmaker Michael Moore's documentary sets out to investigate the American health care system. Sticking to his tried-and-true one-man approach, Moore sheds light on the complicated medical affairs of individuals and local communities. The film provides another perspective on health care that has made it one of the most talked about films of the year.

To help facilitate a fact-based discussion of the issues, students of professor Marcy Parry's Health Care Administration class are holding an open forum at 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the Allied Health Building.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at or by calling (231) 591-5600. The Williams Auditorium ticket office, located in the auditorium lobby at 901 S. State St., is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and one hour before the performance. Persons needing special accommodations to attend this performance may call the auditorium office at (231) 591-3676.
