Motorcycle Safety Program

Ferris State University's Corporate & Professional Development offers the Basic Rider Course (BRC) conducted with state funds from a motorcycle safety grant administered by the Michigan Department of State and is Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) approved and taught by MSF certified instructors.

Upon successful completion of the BRC class, which includes passing a final written and riding skills test, you will receive a completion card, good for one year, that waives the Secretary of State's (SOS) test at the time of license application.  It will require completion of an online eCourse.

The Basic Rider Course is a 3 day course that uses classroom,  riding on the range and an online eCourse completed on your computer.  The online eCourse (MSF eCourse) must be completed and a certificate of completion must be presented prior to the last day of the course.  A link to the online eCourse will be emailed prior to the start date of your class with a pre-paid eCourse code.  Please contact our office if you do not receive the online eCourse code two weeks prior to class.
