Live-Learn Communities

Live and Learn at Ferris

We want you to succeed at Ferris State University

The faculty and staff of Ferris State are dedicated to providing you with support and challenges so you can achieve your goals.

For those seeking specialized or innovative experiences beyond the classroom, we offer something more: intentionally designed live-learn communities that integrate academics with social life. In these communities, you'll meet peers who share your passion for learning, faculty and staff who challenge and support you, and enriching opportunities beyond the classroom.

Living-Learning Communities

In live-learn communities, students who live in the same residence hall take one or more courses together as well as participate in co-curricular experiences like service and leadership development.

The Honors Program

The Honors Program at Ferris State University provides intellectual challenges, resources and support for highly able and motivated students while encouraging service and leadership for the public good. Students from all majors are welcome to apply to Honors.

The Honors Program provides, but does not require, a live-learn community.  Acceptance into Honors will guarantee a room in the Honors live learn community if you desire it, but you can choose to live in a different community.  Entrance requirements include two of the following three: 3.5 high school GPA or greater, 1150 SAT composite or higher, or top 10% in graduating class; along with a solid record of service and leadership. Students who are close to these criteria but with exemplarily records of service and leadership are encouraged to apply.

Living Communities

Living communities are groups of students who live together and participate in co-curricular experience, but do not take courses together.
