How to Use File and Folder Encryption

  1. Open Windows Explorer via the Task Bar icon or through the Windows Home button.

  2. Click and open your Departmental J drive.

  3. Once opened, you should see a folder with a Green Lock. This means the folder and files inside of it are encrypted. If you see a Red Lock, this means the folder is encrypted, but you cannot read the files inside of it. If this happens, please call the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) at 877-779-4822.

  4. Open the desired folder.
