Recently, Lynda.com provided a follow-up to a data breach that occured December, 2016. When the incident happened, they emailed affected users to alert them that some of their information might have been revealed. With Ferris users, the only data that could have been stolen is their name and email.

"In December 2016 an unauthorized third party breached a database that included some of your Lynda.com learning data, such as contact information and courses viewed. You may have received a notification from Lynda.com at that time. While we have no evidence that your specific account was accessed or that any data has been made publicly available, we wanted to notify you of this today as a precautionary measure.
If you or your users have questions, we encourage you to contact us through our Support Center."
