Equifax Credit Reporting Agency Data Breach 2017

On September 7, 2017 Equifax, one of the three nationwide credit reporting agencies, announced a data breach that could affect as many as 143 million people in the United States, along with others in Canada and the United Kingdom. Equifax obtains data from credit card companies, banks, retailers, and lenders.

Equifax has stated they will send notices in the mail to those whose credit card numbers or dispute documents with personally identifiable information were impacted.
