Biography

Dr. Epps is a native of Mississippi and has also lived and worked professionally in Mississippi, Alabama, California and Michigan. She received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at Jackson State University, a Masters in Health Administration at the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Public Health in Health Care Organization and Policy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Working mostly in the public sector, Professor Epps has served various hospitals as a department manager, administrative associate, assistant hospital director, chief operating officer, director of systems operations and chief executive officer. She has also volunteered with many community organizations and agencies, as well as receiving numerous honors and awards.

Her parents still live in Mississippi, along with a brother in Louisiana, a sister in Texas and her son, who is a citizen of the world.
