Admission Professional Sequence

Procedure for Admission to the Professional Sequence for CAHS Quota Programs

Students who have selected one of the quota (limited capacity) programs at Ferris are initially accepted into the pre-professional portion of the program. This means that once you have qualified for admission to the professional sequence of the program, you will be required to make application to the professional sequence. If you meet the qualification criteria now, it is important that you make application to the professional sequence no sooner than January 15 and no later than January 30 to be able to enter the program in the next professional sequence cohort.

You can find the qualification criteria for the program you have selected by clicking here. Please review this information carefully so that you fully understand how you can make the most of your time at Ferris and how you will be able to enter your program of choice.

Students will be admitted to the professional sequence based upon the date that they meet the program's qualification criteria. For example:

A student who meets all of the requirements and is qualified to enter the professional sequence by the end of fall semester would be admitted before a student who met the criteria by the end of the following spring semester of the same academic year.

If there are multiple students who qualify during the same semester, their application date to the University will be used to make the determination about who will start the program first.

Please understand that it is your responsibility to monitor your progress toward qualifying for the program . Once you have met all of the qualifications, you are required to apply for admission to the professional sequence. To apply, go to the CAHS Home page , to your program's page, or click here to find the application form for your program. Applications will be accepted each year no earlier than January 15 and no later than January 30. If you are mailing the application form, the postmark date will be utilized as the application date. Please follow the instructions on the application form and submit all of the information requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Students who are not admitted will be required to reapply during the next year for consideration for professional sequence placement.

During the semester you will have an opportunity to meet with the program coordinator or a faculty member for academic advising in your program. The schedule of the meetings for your program will be posted to your Ferris email and the College website. During these group advising sessions you will have an opportunity to meet other students in the program, to learn more about the program and to ask questions. All students are required to attend the advising session to have your registration hold removed. It is important that you attend these advising sessions to stay up-to-date with the program.
