New Student Admission Requirements
- Completed application for admission.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.00 or higher GPA (on a 4.00 scale).
- Submit official transcripts from all institutions of higher education previously attended. Ferris graduates need not submit transcripts for coursework completed at Ferris.
- Submit a current, professional resume or curriculum vitae.
- Submit a personal statement of your interest in healthcare administration.
- Request three (3) professional references from individuals familiar with academic or professional backgrounds and can provide an assessment of the applicant’s current work quality and ability to complete graduate education successfully.
- Have successful completion of a college-level mathematics course equivalent to MATH 115 or higher, with a grade of C or higher.
- Have successful completion of a basic statistics course, equivalent to COHP 350 and COHP 450, with a grade of C or higher.
- Should have coursework that includes college-level social and natural science courses, such as Biology, Chemistry, and Social Science electives and have grades of C or higher.
- International students whose first (native) language is not English need to have English proficiency test scores sent directly from the testing agency to demonstrate meeting the Ferris standards for English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo).
- Application Deadline: June 1 for Fall Semester and November 1 for Spring Semester
Applicants may need to complete an interview with program faculty in instances where the program has reached enrollment capacity. - Provisional admission may be granted if an applicant does not meet all the admission
requirements. If provisional admission is granted, the applicant must successfully
complete the first nine (9) credit hours of graduate-level coursework with a 3.00
GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and correct all deficiencies in their admission requirements
within the first nine (9) credits of the program.
These requirements also apply to Transfer Students.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment opportunities for medical and health services managers to increase by 32% during the period from 2019 to 2029, much faster than most occupations. The national median wage is $100,980 per year.
The term health services manager encompasses individuals in many different positions, including healthcare executives and administrators who plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the delivery of health care. These individuals lead change that aligns with current healthcare laws and regulations, as well as current trends in technology and services models to meet the needs of the community(s) they serve. Health services managers include both generalists (administrators who manage or help to manage an entire facility or system), and health specialists (managers in charge of specific departments or services found only in the health care industry), and executives (administrators responsible for healthcare delivery systems, or the divisions within healthcare delivery healthcare systems).
