Biography

Dr. Stoetzel's research and teaching interests focus on educator learning across professional trajectories, specifically in regards to preservice teacher learning, instructional coach development, and the opportunities afforded by expanding visions of digital and multimodal literacy engagement (both as the content of literacy coursework and as an element of instructional design). This work is grounded in her beliefs about education which draw on shared expertise, situated learning, and fostering capacity building through collaboration.

A former middle and high school English teacher, Dr. Stoetzel currently teaches literacy and language arts courses in the elementary and secondary education programs. She is co-director of the Crossroads Writing Project and RSO advisor for the FSU Aspiring Educators of Michigan. Dr. Stoetzel was a Junior Faculty Fellow at FSU for the 2020-2021 academic year.
