Karen has over 25 years of experience in higher education major gift fundraising and real estate, environmental and medical sales and marketing. Since her appointment in 2007 as a Major Gift Officer in the College of Engineering Technology, she has held progressively responsible positions in Advancement and has been the Director of Advancement – Major Gifts since 2019.  Karen is responsible for directing the strategies, planning, and implementation of major gift efforts in support of the University’s mission, strategic plan, and fundraising priorities where she leads a team of front-line fundraisers, corporate and foundation grants manager, stewardship and donor relations, prospect management and research and advancement assistance. She is the advancement liaison to the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Business, and the College of Engineering Technology as well as manages a portfolio of Ferris’ closest alumni, friends, and industry partners who are passionate about Ferris State University and its students.
