What We Offer

Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center Pathways to Post Secondary Success

The Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center seeks to increase Hispanic/Latino completion rates by informing the holistic student experience, maximizing equitable educational outcomes and career readiness through advocacy, community partnerships, and culturally responsive academic, career, and personal development.  The Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center currently has community partnerships in Grand Rapids, Holland, and Oceana County.

Promesa Summer Success

Promesa Summer Success is a free, eight-week program for rising juniors and seniors in high school. Students can earn seven college credits over the summer. Promesa Summer Success combines academics and college preparation with the cultural experiences of the students, the instructors, and the city. Success requires people to know the cultural resources that exist within and around them. This understanding will create the leaders of our community, today and tomorrow.

Promesa Scholars

The Promesa Scholars Program (PSP) was created to support the academic advancement and retention of incoming Promesa Summer Success students at Ferris. In 2017, the program was redeveloped and scaled to provide access to resources and opportunities, empowering more students to achieve college completion and career readiness.

Amigos de Promesa Scholars

The DEAL

What's the DEAL?

The DEAL intentionally fosters diversity, engagement experiences, academics and leadership among selected freshman students cross campus. There are two parts to The DEAL. The first part begins with a five-day early campus move-in where relationships are formed and college and career readiness skills are introduced. The second part of The DEAL allows connections between DEAL students to continue through the academic year as students live and learn together in McNerney Hall.
