Living On Campus - New Students

New Student Homepage

Congratulations on becoming a Bulldog and welcome to Housing & Residence Life! We understand that this can be a confusing time and we are to help. Below are instructions and links to help you get started on your journey to living on campus.

Information about both our Housing and Dining Services, along with a lot of other useful material, can be found in the online Housing & Dining Guide.

STEP 1: Deciding Where to Live

Ferris State University policy requires new students to live in University Residence Halls for two full academic semesters. See living on campus for full requirements.

Explore where to live, investigate living learning communities, and view the housing & dining map (pdf).

Then, view the housing rates and options.

STEP 2: Yada Assessment for Roommate Matching

Take the free Yada Assessment now to help you chose a roommate based on your personal roadmap to incredible relationships called “the science of you.

Log in to MyFSU > Student > Life @ FSU > MyHousing > Contracts

Once you complete the 15 minute assessment you will receive a full report, a snapshot, and suggest matches for potential roommates.

STEP 3: MyHousing

New students sign housing contracts starting in January for the coming Fall semester.

Specific dates for contracting

Watch the MyHousing videos and learn how to sign your housing contract and choose a meal plan.

STEP 4. Packing for Campus and Getting Connected

As a new student, you might be wondering what you can and cannot bring on campus.

To start getting connected on campus, follow us on social media, find events and activities on the University Campus Calendar, and get involved in the Ferris Experience!
