Sarah Doherty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies and Sociology from Cornell University and an MSW in Community Based Practice from Portland State University's School of Social Work. In addition to working with LGBTQ communities at Cornell, Portland State and Arkansas State University, Sarah has over 20 years of experience in community organizing and community building -- from student organizing to activism with the Boston Lesbian Avengers to work in the disability arts and immigrant justice movements.
Sarah collaborates with students and university and community partners to develop the LGBTQ+ Resource Centers' resources, including educational and social programming. In addition, she aspires to meet the needs of all Ferris students and to build an inclusive LGBTQ+ Resource Center for our campus community.
