Bruce Borkovich is the Director of Public Safety at Ferris State University. Bruce began his career in 1982 as a teacher and coach in Evart, MI. In 1986 he left teaching and began a career as a Michigan Conservation Officer and retired as a Detective with the DNR in 2006.
During those years, he also taught at Central Michigan University, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Recruit School and at the Michigan State Police Academy. He also taught numerous topics for the DNR in-service training programs; including firearms, OUIL enforcement, search and seizure and man tracking.
He was hired in 2006 with the BAYANET Narcotics Team in Mt. Pleasant and eventually was the Assistant Team Leader. Bruce was recognized and certified as an expert on illegal drug trafficking in several courts in Michigan. In May, 2013 he left the BAYANET Team to become the Chief of Police at Ferris.
