Blacks and Golliwogs

***The staff of the Jim Crow Museum receives dozens of letters and emails. Some of these communiques offer insight into race relations -- historically and in the present. While some are hateful, we have decided to share some of these letters and emails with our Internet visitors.***

There are actually some people in sub-saharan Africa who look like golliwogs, in fact golliwog was originally an Egyptian name for these people. The Egyptians used to make golliwog dolls for their children, and British sailers introduced golliwog dolls into the U.K. I think that it is very racist of negros to object to the racial characteristics of these sub-saharan people. You occasionally see them in London, usually students.
