COVID-19 Data

Ferris State University is working closely with our local health departments to monitor and track confirmed positive cases associated with the University and Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD).

The data found on this page encompasses all positive cases associated with Ferris State University and KCAD, not just those who work/study/live in Big Rapids/Mecosta County or Grand Rapids/Kent County.

To ensure our communities have the latest information, beginning Monday, September 14, new confirmed positive cases will be posted here each day, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) by 5 p.m. Prior positive case data was reported once weekly. Saturday and Sunday case data will be added to Monday’s reports.

Beginning Monday, September 21, in an effort to provide more detail about how many cases are active as compared to the total cumulative cases reported, the University will be reporting "Current active cases" daily. "Current active cases" is the count of positive cases reported to the University over the past ten days. This is an estimate of those currently in isolation, assuming a ten day symptomatic period following the reporting of a positive test result. Actual periods of isolation are specific to the individual and determined by the county health department.

*The University began reporting positive cases associated with its campuses the week of August 24, with its first reported result posted only three days later on Thursday, August 27.
