Ferris State University has important dates to remember from the close of the Fall
2022 semester to the start of the Spring 2023 term in January.
Ferris State University’s Fall 2022 semester wrapped up after final exams followed by commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 17. Between semesters, several university operations have been limited or closed during the holiday season.
Director of Housing and Residence Life Lisa Ortiz said they would accommodate students remaining on campus through the first days of winter break due to work schedules or athletics teams commitments.
“Some students paid an additional fee to reside in Bond Hall during the holiday break,” Ortiz said. “All other residence halls shut down as of Sunday, Dec. 18 at 12 p.m. However, our student residents of the East Campus Suites and West Campus Apartments are free to remain there on their own schedules.”
Residence halls reopen for the Spring 2023 semester on Friday, Jan. 6, at 8 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Ferris Library for Information, Technology and Education (FLITE) closed at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, and the building, university archives, research assistance and chat operation and FLITE deck will remain closed until 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Auxiliary Services closes most of its dining operations from Sunday, Dec. 18, through Sunday, Jan. 8. The Rock Café will reopen with a modified schedule from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, through Saturday, Jan. 7, and return to its regular schedule on Sunday, Jan. 8.
Ferris Outfitters and the Bulldog Service Center offered its products and services through Thursday, Dec. 22. It will reopen along with many of the David L. Eisler Building services at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Ferris Printing Services closed on Thursday, Dec. 22, but reopens at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
The Racquet and Fitness Center reopens on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 7 a.m.
Other university offices reopen after the winter break at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
