Here is a scene from the Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies in Big Rapids. The fall ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17 in Jim Wink Arena of the Ewigleben Sports Complex in Big Rapids.

Seven hundred and fifty students will graduate at the close of Ferris State University’s Fall 2022 semester, including the 500-plus planning to participate at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Jim Wink Arena of the Ewigleben Sports Complex in Big Rapids.

The December 2022 ceremonies are the first for new president Bill Pink, who officially started his Ferris leadership role on Monday, July 11. The featured commencement speaker will be Ferris’ 2022 Distinguished Teacher Award winner, Eric Warner, a faculty member from the College of Arts, Sciences and Education.

Pink is enthusiastic about Saturday, Dec. 17.

“I’m always excited for the first time I do something,” he said. “It’s not just a first for me. For many of our graduates, this will be their first time graduating from college, so I know they will also be excited. I look forward to shaking the hands of our graduates, especially those graduating who I have met and gotten to know during the short time I have been at Ferris. I look forward to those moments.”
