A return to familiar activities and surroundings is ahead for everyone associated with The Ferris Foundation. This year’s Benefit for Excellence Gala is set for Friday, Oct. 29, as a live event in the Steelcase Ballrooms of DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids.

Ferris State University Associate Vice President for Advancement Bob Murray is executive director of The Ferris Foundation. Though the 2020 virtual Benefit for Excellence had good support, he said returning to the ballroom area should offer a more pleasant evening from the social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. to the program’s end, after 9 p.m.

“This is a venue that has always found great favor with our base of supporters, as well as The Ferris Foundation Board of Directors and the university community,” Murray said. “We look forward to the chance to gather in person while giving full consideration and attention to the enjoyment and safety of our participants.”

Murray said as “Now And Always, The Campaign For Ferris State University” closes in on its $115 million goal, the Benefit Gala is an opportunity to celebrate.

“We will reflect on the accomplishments of the last year, which includes the advances made in the Now and Always campaign,” Murray said. “This is a great opportunity to show appreciation for the work of The Ferris Foundation Board of Directors, whose efforts are significantly building the university endowment and providing support for faculty and staff enrichment, along with campus development.”

Tickets for the Benefit for Excellence Gala Oct. 29 are available through The Ferris Foundation website, with information also available online regarding sponsorship opportunities for the event. The Ferris Foundation Administrative Assistant Kimberly Erickson is available to respond to questions regarding the gala online or by calling (231) 591-2365.
