2018 Homecoming Royalty Gather for Meet and Greet Events Prior to Voting

Ferris State UniversityEight Homecoming Royalty candidates will meet with Ferris State University students during events on Thursday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 21, ahead of OrgSync voting that will take place during Homecoming Week.

Ashley Harmison, the chair of the Homecoming Royalty committee said both opportunities will take place in the University Center.

“On Thursday, Sept. 20, we invite students to stop by the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., for an informal ‘Meet the Royalty’ event,” Harmison said. “That should provide the opportunity for supporters and new students to talk to these candidates.”

On Friday, Sept. 21, a “Fridays at Ferris: Turn up Your Pride!" casino night has been arranged, from 9 to 11 p.m.

“Students will be able to make Ferris pride decorations for themselves, or their residence hall room or apartment and participate in casino games,” Harmison said. “We are hoping to get all of the Homecoming Royalty candidates to participate and run the games, providing them another chance to meet with their fellow students.”

Harmison said that as of 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, students who log into OrgSync will be able to easily access the balloting for Homecoming Royalty. Voting will continue through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27. The Homecoming Royalty will be introduced at halftime of the football game Saturday, Sept. 29 between Ferris and Ashland University, at Top Taggart Field.

The Homecoming Royalty candidates are Tyrell Austin, of East Tawas; Miranda Blaine, of Flint; Quinn Cross, of Blissfield; Morgan Dodson, of Kingsley; Allison Jackson, of Sherwood; Samantha E. Miller, of Morrice; Maria Rogers, of Grand Blanc; and Taya Treiber, of Luther.
