The growth of Ferris State University’s Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center will be reviewed
and celebrated on Wednesday, April 11 with a program and offering of music and cuisine
from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., as an event honoring their fifth anniversary is held in the
Interdisciplinary Resources Center Connector.
CLS Director Kaylee Moreno said this anniversary celebration will open with a short program followed by food, music and dancing.
“Attendees will be able to reflect on the history of CLS, learn about the accomplishments of our students, what the center has been able to do to benefit the campus and community, and the collaborations we have built across the state,” Moreno said. “It will also be a time to consider the next steps for the center, so we hope students, faculty and staff can be part of the celebration.”
CLS will offer a taste of treats from Georgina’s, a Grand Rapids-based restaurant.
“Like many of our students’ stories, their's is a fusion of cultures,” Moreno said. “We are sure those who celebrate with us will enjoy the evening.”
A Cuban band from Chicago, Los Perros Cubanos, will also be entertaining at the celebration.
