*BELOW IS AN UPDATE FROM THIS FEB. 23 MEDIA STATEMENT*
The Ferris State University Department of Public Safety has concluded an investigation
that started the evening of Tuesday, February 23 when a female student reported that
an unknown male grabbed her and would not release her until witnesses shouted at the
attacker and he fled the on-campus scene.
As part of the investigation, the female student who reported the incident has since admitted, to Ferris police, that the reported February 23 attack did not happen.
The University takes all crime reports seriously and strongly encourages campus community members to report crimes immediately to Ferris DPS by calling (231) 591-5000.
