Independent Showcase Features ‘Rival Summers’ for Feb. 18 Event

Ferris State University will be hosting an Independent Showcase event, featuring Rival Summers, on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in the University Center in Room 202A.

The free, public event kicks off with a performance by Rival Summers followed by a question-and-answer session.

“This event is unique because it takes musicians who are our age and gives them an opportunity to explain their tactics in helping make a successful career as an independent artist,” said Olivia Odette, a Music Industry Management major from Grand Rapids, Mich.

Rival Summers is a Detroit, Mich.-based pop band that was formed in 2008. The band has toured extensively across the U.S. to showcase their music and their brand of honest, uplifting pop music. Since it was formed, Rival Summers has released two extended-play records as well, as two full-length albums so far and is currently working toward releasing a new, full-length album in 2016.

For more information about this event, refer to the University Events Calendar or contact Olivia Odette at [email protected].
