Big Rapids Native Anna Howard Shaw to be Highlighted at March 24 Event

Anna Howard ShawAlbion Professor Trisha Franzen, author of “Anna Howard Shaw: The Work of Woman Suffrage,” will lecture about Shaw’s life and the fight for the right to vote on Tuesday, March 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. in University Center, Room 202A, at Ferris State University.

As part of Women’s History Month, the organizers of BEYOND: Diversity will present “Working for Women: Anna Howard Shaw and the Struggle for the Vote.” Shaw previously resided in Big Rapids and attended Big Rapids High School.

Franzen will also speak in FLITE, Room 240 at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24. That discussion will focus on historical research and reconstructing a life story.
