Olszewski Learns the Value of Collaboration through Summer Internship

Ferris State University students gain valuable work experience through internships. Internships also can confirm or redirect career decision-making, provide marketability, develop people skills and enhance classroom learning. Many academic programs require one, but the experience is encouraged regardless to provide students with a better understanding of what will be expected of them in the workplace.

Josh OlszewskiHe is:a dual enrolled Music Industry Management and Public Relations student from Traverse City, Mich.

Internship: Olszewski is interning with Porterhouse Productions in Traverse City, Mich.

He is learning:How to organize, plan and implement theMicroBrewFestival in Traverse City, Mich. He alsoworksclosely with the office and production teams to buildothernational events. He has worked on writing news releases and working with social media for the organization.

He is looking forward to: His final year of college, and the “Music on the Muskegon” event held at Hemlock Park this fall.

The Core Value he most relates to at his employer: Collaboration. Porterhouse is a team-based environment where everyone pitches in to create quality events.
