Eligibility by Program
Different FerrisNow Programs have different eligibility requirements.
College Readiness Courses-New Students
College Readiness courses include CARE-Career and Education Planning, ENGL 074-Intro to Basic Collegiate Writing, MATH 110-Fundamentals of Algebra, READ 175-Foundations of Analytical Reading, and UNIV 101-College Study Methods.
- There are no minimum high school GPA requirements to enroll.

- If you have a GPA lower than 2.5, you will need your high school administrator's recommendation and the approval of the Director of Ferris' Office of Transfer and Secondary School Partnerships to be admitted .
- There are no minimum test score requirements for CARE and UNIV 101 classes.
- If you wish to enroll in MATH 110, you must have score of 15 or higher on the ACT math test or 400 or higher on the SAT/PSAT math assessment.
Concurrent Enrollment-New Students
- You should have at a cumulative high school GPA of 2.50 or higher.
- Your test scores must show college readiness ability.
Dual Enrollment-New Students
- You should have at a cumulative high school GPA of 2.50 or higher.
- Your test scores must show college readiness ability.
Woodbridge Promise-New Students
Year-long program
- You must be entering your senior year of high school
- You must be recommended by your high school counselor
- You should have a 2.50 cumulative high school GPA
- You should meet the following test scores:
- SAT Evidence Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) Score < 450 (for ENGL 074 and READ 175)
- SAT EBRW Score > 450 (for ENGL 150 and READ 176)
- SAT Math Score between 400-490
If you wish to participate in the Woodbridge Promise Summer Success Program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must have completed your junior year of high school
- You must be recommended by your high school counselor
- You should have a 2.50 cumulative high school GPA
- You should meet the following test scores:
- SAT Reading Score at or below 430
- SAT Math Score between 400-490
Course Pre-requisites
A pre-requisite is a course or test score requirement you have to complete before enrolling in a course.
Some Ferris courses have pre-requisite requirements.
Pre-requisites for all Ferris courses may be found in the University's online catalog.
Requirements for Continuing Students
If you are a current FerrisNow student and wish to continue your enrollment in the FerrisNow Program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Obtain a “C” or higher in all Ferris courses
- Maintain a 2.00 overall GPA at Ferris State University.
NOTE: Participation in the FerrisNow program does not guarantee admission to Ferris State following a student’s high school graduation. Students must meet the University's admissions criteria.
