Dr. Sara Bush is an Assistant Professor at the Michigan College of Optometry. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Vision Science at Ferris State University in 2007 with Honors and her doctorate from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2010 with High Distinction. Following graduation, Dr. Bush completed her residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Michigan College of Optometry in 2011, writing her research thesis on the potential barriers to children obtaining eye glasses in different clinical settings and socioeconomic environments.

Before coming to MCO, Dr. Bush taught at MCPHS University School of Optometry in Optometric Procedures lecture and laboratory courses, supervised students in clinical education, as well as directed their school vision screening program. Her current teaching responsibilities include anterior and posterior segment laboratory instruction, clinical problem solving, and supervising 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students in the Primary Care and Pediatrics/Binocular Vision services. Dr. Bush is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Michigan Optometric Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and is currently a candidate for fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry. She joined the faculty at MCO in June 2014.
