Dr. Megan Weidner is currently completing the Ocular Disease and Primary Care residency at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System (NIHCS) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She attended Ferris State University for undergraduate studies in biology and Pre-Optometry. In 2014, she was accepted for early admittance to the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO). Following completion of internships at the Kresge Eye Institute (Detroit, MI), the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute (Rapid City, SD), The Illinois Eye Institute (Chicago, IL) and the Connecticut VA Health Care System (New Haven, CT), she graduated from ICO in May of 2018.

While at ICO, Dr. Weidner received clinical honors in two of her clinical rotations and academic honors through membership in Beta Sigma Kappa. Through her involvement as peer mentor for 1st year students, academic tutor and teaching assistant in anatomy and clinical procedures courses, she enjoyed mentoring and teaching underclassmen. In 2016, Dr. Weidner participated in a medical mission trip serving nearly 1,000 people in Guatemala. She also participated in several community based vision screenings and collaborated with medical students to provide diabetic care to the medically under-served population in Chicago. Dr. Weidner was involved in several professional organizations including the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, the Private Practice Club, and the Student Association where she served as Treasurer.

In her free time, Dr. Weidner enjoys outdoor recreation (especially hiking) and quality time with family.
