My background experience includes working almost 14 years in a maximum security prison both as a correctional officer and counselor. I then worked with drug-exposed/addicted newborns and their mothers in a program that was contracted by Child Protective Services to ensure the babies health, safety, and welfare. Once I began my doctorate studies, I taught traffic safety classes for the Arizona Supreme Court.
Organizational behavior and work environment issues, effects and performances outcomes in criminal justice, evidence-based treatment interventions, correctional staff attitudes and behaviors, ethics, and death penalty attitudes.
I am a member of American Society of Criminology, Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Midwest Criminal Justice Association, Michigan Sheriff's Association, and Michigan Corrections Officers Training Council.
