Nick is a graduate of the Television and Digital Media Production program at Ferris State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He also attended Central Michigan University where, as a graduate assistant, his research focused on self-censorship in the media after the advent of television ratings and is ultimately where he earned a Master of Arts.
Nick has over 5 years of experience working in broadcast news. The first 2 years of his career were spent working for the highest rated television station in Northern Michigan as a photojournalist. As a "phojo," Nick covered dozens of breaking news events, interviewed many politicians and celebrities and won awards for his visual work in electronic news gathering.
For approximately 3 years, Nick served as a television news producer where he grew to excel at covering news events happening throughout Michigan. This career continued at Central Michigan University where he served as executive producer of the school's News Central 34 broadcasts.
Nick is also an avid filmmaker who has received national distribution with his film "Preemie." The film, which took nearly 2 years to complete, chronicles the struggles Nick's daughter experiences after she is born 3 months premature.
Nick's aim at Ferris is to challenge students to create exceptional work while preparing them for careers in the Television and Digital Media industry. His goal is to one day see all of his student's work on the big and small screen.
