Biography

I am currently an Associate Professor at Ferris State University, and the Chair of the School of Nursing. My educational background consists of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Grand Valley State University, a Master of Science in nursing with a focus on education from Ferris State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain College of Nursing. I worked for a large acute care facility, as a staff nurse, charge nurse, nursing preceptor, and most recently as a staff development nurse educator. My experience has been in orthopedic/trauma, medical/ surgical, emergency department and surgical services (pre, intra, and post-operative). In addition to my experience in acute care, I also spent time working as an adjunct faculty member for a Community College, mainly focusing on clinical teaching for students at the medical/surgical level. I am a member of the Doctors of Nursing Practice, American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Thu.
