Step Up

CALLING LEADERS! WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP!

You're invited to join the Step Up program here at Ferris. Step Up is a peer education program, aimed to help students identify concerning scenarios involving alcohol, sexual assault, or depression and intervene. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable engaging with and presenting to their peers on these topics (with training). Ideal members are passionate about helping others; interested in learning more about sexual assault, mental health, or alcohol; and must be able to 'walk the walk', and prepared to intervene with others on these topics.

EXPECTATIONS

Meetings take place on Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM in the University Center. Members are asked to present to groups and classrooms on being an active bystander as well as well as help plan and staff educational events throughout the year.

BENEFITS

In addition to actively working for a better campus climate, Step Up members will gain public speaking experience in individual and group settings. Perhaps more importantly, they will be able to provide a much needed service for the University community, and to shape prevention efforts and activities for Ferris State University.
