Pat on the Back Awards December 2009

Congratulations to —

I would like to nominate Writing Center employees Lizz Ward (para-pro) and Ashley Barrigar (student office assistant) for a pat on the back award. They go above and beyond the call of duty to assist us at our front desk, even though they don't work for the Academic Support Center. Whenever we're short-handed or overwhelmed, they jump right in and help out. They pitch in so often that they know our office assistant's job better than some of our office assistants (granted we have several brand new ones this semester). We know we can always count on them to help when the need arises and we can't think of a better way to show it than with this nomination! They are very much appreciated!

I would like to nominate Christa Walker from University Advancement and Marketing for a Pat-On-The-Back Award. Christa recently completed a re-design of the Ferris Magazine, formerly the Crimson and Gold alumni magazine. She has created a publication that alumni, employees and others can even be more proud of through its high quality, professional and uniquely creative presentation. As an alumna of Ferris' Graphic Design program, her quality of work certainly is a testament to the excellent education she received here and the incredible skill set she has honed. I deeply admire her drive and ambition as I have watched her over a number of years successfully balance a full-time job while working tirelessly toward her degree, setting an example that it's never too late in life to get a degree and fulfill your dreams.

We would like to nominate Terri Aldrich in ITS for a Pat-on-the-Back Award. Terri has been instrumental in helping us get the new business continuity planning software for the University up and running. When the software didn't turn out to be quite as ready "out of the box" as advertised, Terri worked determinedly to research the problem and make the program work. Thanks to Terri's hard work and perseverance, we're ahead of schedule and almost ready to implement the planning tool campus wide.

Lynnae Selsberg has been instrumental in my college application, acceptance and transcript review and advising. I am an out of state student looking to return to school and decided to review what Ferris could do for me. Having been a GLMA graduate, Lynnae confirmed I could complete the degree in a year, and online. This will help me accomplish a 20 year goal in one year. She also helped me in meeting the requirements of WIA funding and continuing to support my Family and work. MY own state school here in Wisconsin was not nearly as accommodating. Many thanks Lynnae!

"I would like to see Kim Kleeves get a HUGE pat-on-the-back for all the years she has been putting out the award winning announcements! I know people such as Kim aren't on committees to win awards themselves, but every once in a while I feel they too should be recognized. Kimberly is such an upbeat person....always doing her job with a smile (okay, and maybe just a hint of mischief.)

I would like to nominate Danette Boyd for a Pat on the back award. She is always willing to help and she always has a big smile on her face. She goes above and beyond in helping with the dental clinic. Thanks for being such a great part of our team. Thanks Danette for all you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
