Crop Marks

Crop marks are guides for trimming sheets. If the program doesn’t have the option to export with crop marks, make sure the final size is indicated. We can add crop marks to the file when we set up for printing (no set up charge for adding crop marks).

What is Bleed and How to Use It

Bleed is a term used for a document with images/graphics that go to the edge of a page. The bleed area extends beyond where the sheet will be cut, leaving no white margin along the outside edge.

Production printers cannot print to the edge of a sheet and must be printed on a larger sheet and trimmed down to the final size. For example, an 8.5”x11” page with bleed must be printed on an 11”x17” sheet and cut to size. The other option is we can print on the 8.5”x11” page and trim the white margin off which will result in a smaller page size

Margins and Bleeds are required for cutting because printing will shift slightly from page to page. This minor shift will not result in perfect cutting in a stack of prints. A print without margins or bleeds will result in cut off words or graphics.

Design Corrections

If you need design corrections, they may require set-up or labor charges. These may include, but are not limited to, creating margins or bleed areas, resetting multiple prints, or editing document pages (deleting or moving).

Binding

Comb Binding

Rectangular holes are punched into the document and a plastic binder is inserted. Sizes range from ¼” to 2”. We also have clear plastic covers that can be added to the document

Lamination

Lamination is waterproof, helps papers last longer, and resists damage. We can laminate existing prints or products we print for you up to 12’ x 18’.

Tabbing

Tabs are placed on folded mail pieces according to postal regulations to hold them closed.
