Michele SidermanMichele was born and raised in Beulah, Michigan, and attended Benzie Central High School.  She received her B.S.W. from Grand Valley State University in 1990.  She moved from Michigan to Arizona where she changed careers and began teaching.  She taught at Woodard Junior High School then moved on to teach and coach at Yuma High School.  While in Arizona, she earned two Master Degrees in Education, one in Educational Leadership and the other in Human Relation Counseling.  Michele then moved back to Michigan after nine years in Arizona, and worked three years at Elk Rapids High School as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director.  She then moved to the Kentwood Public School District in August of 2001, where she served as an Assistant Principal at East Kentwood High School for four years. Michele also served as the Principal of East Kentwood Freshman Campus, which she began in 2006.  In 2013, she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. She retired in 2018 from East Kentwood.

Field Representative Duties and Responsibilities 

FSU Field Representatives serve as the "eyes and ears" of the CSO office in the field. Representatives are required to visit their assigned academies and attend all Academy Board meetings during the year to monitor and report back to the CSO on the following:

All academy visits are documented in report form to the Director within five (5) days of attendance, and verbal reports on academies are given at monthly meetings of the CSO staff.
