Sharon Hopper, Compliance Auditor/Board Liaison

Sharon Hopper PictureSharon Hopper is the Compliance Auditor/Board Liaison who  began employment with the Ferris State University Charter Schools Office in January 2018. Sharon began her career at FSU in 2007 as a Clerk/Typist for the Physical Plant, then in 2008 as the Labor Relations/Equal Opportunity Assistant for the General Counsel's office. She worked in Human Resources from 2012 until 2018 reaching the level of Senior Human Resources Specialist prior to transferring to the Charter Schools Office.

Prior to employment with FSU, Sharon spent 18 years in an enforcement and investigative capacity with the Kent County criminal justice system.

Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as the oversight facilitator for the academies authorized by the University; coordinates the needs and requirements of the Charter Schools Office with the Academy Boards of Directors, management companies, and field representatives; assures that required documentation is received in a timely manner and properly filed; reviews all academy Board meeting documents to ensure compliance with the Open Meetings Act and other related laws.
