Distinguished Teacher Award

The nomination window for this award is now closed. The 2020-2021 nomination process will open fall 2020.

The Distinguished Teacher Award is symbolic of the appreciation of the Ferris State University faculty for their dedication to and excellence in teaching and carries with it an award of $2500.  The Distinguished Teacher Award Committee requests your help to identify a faculty member to be considered for this honor.  Nominations must be made by tenured or tenure-track faculty.  

The nominee may be a tenure-track faculty or non-tenure track faculty, staff, or students. Past recipients of the Distinguished Teacher Award are not eligible.

Criteria for Evaluation

Nominees will be evaluated based on the significance of his/her contributions in these areas:

  1. Teaching excellence
  2. Interest in students outside the classroom/laboratory
  3. Participation in professional development activities
  4. Exhibit distinction as a member of the university community as it impacts teaching.

Nomination submissions for the 2019-2020 award were due on December 13, 2019 by 4 pm and are now closed. Nominations will reopen fall 2020 for the 2020-2021 award.
