The College Student Experience Questionnaire

(CSEQ) - an indirect measure of student learning

In the fall semester of 2001, Ferris participated in the College Student Experience Questionnaire (CSEQ). For the first time, the CSEQ was used as an indirect measure of the success of general education at Ferris. Juniors and seniors were asked a variety of questions about their experiences with general education: did they gain a better understanding of the world, of other philosophies, of science, etc.? A report on the results of the CSEQ was compiled by the General Education Coordinator and shared with all members of all general education committees, as well as all department heads in CAS. CSEQ garners information relevant to many other units of the University, including Student Affairs, where its results are also widely shared and analyzed.
