The Quiz tool in WebCT allows instructors to post objective (multiple choice, true/false, matching, and short-answer) exams which can be automatically scored. Essay questions may also be delivered using WebCT, but these exams must be reviewed by the instructor before being graded.
Upon logging into their myWebCT account, students may be
notified by the course news
icon
that a quiz is currently available. By clicking on the icon, the student will be
taken directly to the quiz tool. Otherwise, students may see a list of available
quizzes by clicking on the quiz icon once logged into the course.

A pencil icon next to the quiz title indicates which quizzes are currently available. By clicking on the quiz title you may begin taking the exam.
Students are advised to take a few moments to read the “quiz introduction” before beginning the exam. Instructors have several options available in setting up a quiz, so each quiz may be somewhat different in the way it is presented, whether the questions are delivered all at once, or one at a time, whether you will be able to return to a question, and the length of time you have to complete a quiz.

To begin the quiz, click on the “begin quiz” button.
The quiz window consists of the question(s) pane, and the status pane. The question(s) pane is the larger pane on the left side of the window and includes the quiz title and student name at the top, followed by one or more questions.
After answering each question the student must click the “save answer” button following each question.

The “status pane” is located on the right side of the quiz window and
indicates whether a question has been answered, and if the answer has been
saved.

Once the all of the questions have been answered, the quiz must be saved by clicking on the “finish” button.

Your instructor has a number of options concerning releasing the score (not to release the score, release only the total score, release the score and the answers, etc.). If your instructor had allowed the score to be released once the quiz is completed along with the answers, you may review your quiz upon completion, along with feedback for individual questions.
