In June 2004 Tot's Place Child Development Center was the first child care center in the Mecosta-Osceola school district to be awarded accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC).

Early childhood programs accredited by the NAEYC have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive internal self-study process, an external review to verify compliance with the Criteria for High-Quality Early Childhood Programs, and have been found to be in substantial compliance with the Criteria.
