Connecting to the Internet
How to connect from your Residence Hall and other locations On-Campus. Before you can connect your student computer to the network on-campus, three software applications must be installed: Cisco Clean Access, Ferris' version of Symantec EndPoint, and the Automatic Updates for Windows must be turned on. All of these products are offered FREE of charge to all students. You will need to login to Cisco Clean Access using your Ferris Computing ID and password. This product verifies that your computer is up to date and will not spread any viruses. The antivirus software is set up to automatically receive updated virus definition files, and protect your computer. Lastly, the Automatic Update program (WSUS) makes sure your computer gets the correct patches. Please follow these steps carefully. If at any time you are unsure of what to do, call the TAC at 231-591-4822 or toll free at 877-779-4822. IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS VISTA, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS BEFORE YOU START:
